Help with Equipment for MN 1988 Caprice 9C1

Hi everyone,

Previously, I have had a couple of threads related to audible and visual warning equipment, prior to the restructuring of the forum.

My car is a 1988 Chevy Caprice 9C1, that as far as I can tell, went to either Minneapolis or St. Paul. I originally believed it came from Minneapolis due to a vehicle history check, but I recently was able to get my hands on a copy of the car’s invoice, which denotes St. Paul.

I am looking to find any info I can on this particular car, and what equipment it may have had.

As the title states, I am wondering what old school audible equipment used to be in my 1988 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 Fire Department car.

All I have to go off of is the mic clip, which strangely has wires going to it, and a bracket for either a radio, or siren, and a power connector.

I’m hoping one of the experts here can shed some light! I just recently picked this car up and would love to find the gear that was originally in the car.

When I get a chance, I will also grab some pictures of the evidence of a light bar and start a new thread, as this car appears to have had one as well.

Shoot, I don’t think I ever got the notification for your post. Based on the switches I have in the interior of my car, this bar may have been very close to what was on it in service. I also like the look of the aerodynics more than other bars.

@MN9C1 I do have this one yet that I would consider selling. It was a former St. Paul FD bar

Do you have any history on what the bar was on? As far as I know, my car was owned by Minneapolis, but was apparently ordered by St. Paul police. Could have been St. Paul FD at one time.
